een Fablab experience zoals we het in Deventer nog niet gezien hebben.

Een Fablab experience zoals we het in Deventer nog niet gezien hebben.
Laat jezelf net als filmsterren in 3D scannen en zie je eigen beeld direct gebeamd verschijnen. Ondertussen ratelt de 3D printer maar door.
Met gastspreker Zelda Beauchampet die alle ins en outs van de Fabwereld kent. En daarbij een te gekke VJ show en relaxte muziek. Na afloop neem je jezelf in 3D op USB mee naar huis.
In het Fablab print je vervolgens je eigen beeld uit…

We blikken kort terug op het tijdelijke Fablab in Deventer maar kijken natuurlijk vooral naar de toekomst!

Dit doen we onder meer met het Belgische bedrijf 4DDynamics. Zij geven in het Kunstenlab een demonstratie met hun 3D Scanner. 4DDynamics is onder andere actief op medisch gebied, in de security en entertainment business. 4DDynamics scant iedereen die het wil die avond in en het resultaat kun je meteen geprojecteerd zien verschijnen in de zaal.

Verder staan er in de projectruimte een aantal objecten die zijn gemaakt in het tijdelijke Fablab: een prototype van een stoel, een geluidsinstallatie. VJ Jeroen Traanman geeft tijdens de avond een show met een zelf gebouwde installatie waarvan een aantal onderdelen zijn gemaakt in het tijdelijke Fablab. Geprojecteerd op de muur maar ook op mensen. En uiteraard is het thema van zijn VJ show 3D en Fablab. Muziek is er van DJ Leon.

Een veelbelovende en vooral ook inspirerende avond!
Woensdag 29 februari vanaf 20.00 uur in de projectruimte van het Kunstenlab (Laboratoriumplein 1, Deventer).

Dit project is mogelijk gemaakt door de provincie Overijssel, Stedendriehoek Onderneemt en gemeente Deventer en werd georganiseerd door het Kunstenlab i.s.m. de Ongezouten-partners.

With pleasure 4DDynamics was hosting Pierre Renaux, a young and upcoming designer finalising his bachelor at Antwerp Fashion Academy. Carina Gosselé was performing in excellent detail the 16 different collection pieces. We are looking forward seeing more design coming from Pierre's hands in the upcoming years and wish him success with his apprenticeships in Paris !

PicoScan as a design scanner

A brand new project commissioned by Z33, House for contemporary art and Thomas Lommée:

KIOSK
Design Sampler

KIOSK is a project that explores a near future scenario in which digital fabricators are so ubiquitous, that we see them appear on street corners, just like fast food today is sold in NY style mobile food stalls. A place where you can quickly get a custom made fix for your broken shoe, materialise an illegal download of Starck’s Juicy Salif orange squeezer that you modified for better performance or quickly print out a present for your sisters birthday.

How does this scenario challenge our perception of authorship, originality, design and what is the role of the designer when goods are moved around in the form of digital blueprints and appropriated in ways beyond our control?

Unfold gathered information from various designers and labels about how they position themselves towards this scenario. During the Salone del Mobile Unfold will three-dimensionally scan new objects presented by these various designers and based on the acquired data, appropriate, sample, remix, improve, up/downscale or copy new objects 3d-printed on the spot.

Kiosk is part of the exhibition New Times, New Heroes, organised by Z33-House of contemporary art and REcentre - centre for sustainable design.

Sept 21-26th 4DDynamics attended PhotoKina 2010

where it launched the Scan Men Shop in Shop formula with great success. Although for the first phase we will start with Germany as a prime market. We received great interest in several European & Asian countries and the US for this new Business opportunity for Photographers.
